Brooke Voldbaek - Instructor/Trainer
Brooke was
introduced to dressage thorough her aunt, accomplished Northwest dressage
trainer Mary Ann Judkins. Her association with Mary Ann gave her a strong
foundation in dressage at a young age, which later led to an extremely
successful riding and training career. Brooke's first successful FEI horse was
the Lipizzan stallion Conversano II Pirouette, and she has since trained
several horses to FEI. She has won numerous ODS and USDF regional championships
through the FEI levels and earned her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals.
Furthermore, she has been ranked in the "Top 20" in the nation for USDF Horse
of the Year and All Breed Awards multiple times - including 4 times in 2005.

Brooke
is also an incredibly accomplished instructor. One of Brooke's top
accomplishments was to develop her student Heather Oleson (now fellow
Sonnenberg trainer) from the lower levels to Grand Prix. In addition to
Heather, Brooke has helped many of her students reach their riding goals,
whether they include competing training level at local schooling shows or
preparing for FEI competitions. Brooke's students have also won several ODS,
USDF Regional and year-end championships. She is a positive coach who teaches
her students to ride with harmony and expression. Brooke's accomplishments as
an instructor culminated in 2004, when she won the ODS Instructor of the Year
award, an award sponsored in memory of her influential aunt, Mary Ann Judkins.

One of Brooke's
biggest influences was Canadian based Dressage instructor Dietrich von
Hopffgarten. For over 10 years, Brooke worked with Dietrich on a monthly basis.
"Dietrich helps me bring the best out of each horse I ride with him", says
Brooke. Other dressage influences include Jeremy Steinberg, Steffen Peters,
Hilda Gurney and Jane Savoie.

Brooke
shares her passion for horses and animals with her son Erik. Often, you'll see
Brooke giving Erik a riding lesson on her FEI schoolmaster. In addition to the
horses, Brooke and Erik share their time with three cats and a golden retriever
puppy named Cody. Brooke's passion for horses and animals continues to motivate
her to greater success in her dressage teaching and
training.
